Walking

East Prawle is very close to the South-West coastal path. The path has its own website that gives the best information - but here is a part of it that is one of our favorites - a ~3 hour walk that can be done year round and takes you along the coastal cliffs and inland through a wooded bridleway. Take a quick detour up to the Venus Cafe on the Mill-Bay side of the estuary for a cup of tea and a pastie. The view across to Salcombe is great. A ferry boat takes passengers across to the town for a drink or browsing the shops.

You can drive to the edge of Dartmoor in about 40 minutes. This is a great walking area for all levels and abilities - try letterboxing! Please be prepared for sudden adverse weather if you go deeper onto the moor.

On wet days - you can go into Plymouth (30 minutes drive). Sorley Tunnels near Kingsbridge has horse riding and other activites.

Just North of Loddiswell is the South Devon Chilli Farm. One of our favorites and an interesting 20 minute stop - just off the main road. See chillis being grown and buy locally made salsa, sauces, chocolate, plants & seeds. http://www.southdevonchillifarm.co.uk/
